Commemorative Eagle ceremonies at the Jamboree Please download the Yoda Eagle patch order form by clicking here. Please download the Black Rope Scouting Experience by clicking here, which explains the philosophy of the program. Two Patch Program: The Silver Border is for the Eagle Scouts the Black border is for the Jamboree Scoutmasters who have Eagle Ceremonies for their Eagle Scouts at the Jamboree. The qualified Eagle Scouts are the youth Eagles that attend the Jamboree, all of them regardless of how long ago they earned their eagle. The purpose is to have the Scout celebration of Eagle recognition with the Jamboree, a lifetime memory. As Scouts continue to make progress on their Eagle right up until the Jamboree, and I will still try to encourage Troops to give their Scouts an Eagle ceremony at the Jamboree for those who may not have yet decided to, I will expect to be shipping some patches after the Jamboree. The patch, designed to be worn on the pocket as are Philmont trek completion patches. All of your Eagle Youth and Jamboree Scoutmasters can qualify. Our Yoda Eagle patches will be available to eligible parties prior to the Jamboree. I will mail patches to the eligible (meet our requirements) when they are available.
More Yoda/Eagle Patch information: In 2005 we developed a Yoda/Eagle patch to draw attention to the value of a commemorative Eagle ceremony at special times and special places. This ceremony creates an enhanced, expanded memory for the Scouts of that special experience. At the World Jamboree 2007 we had an Eagle ceremony August 1st the day of the 100-year celebration at the Jamboree. In 1994 we had our first Commemorative Eagle Ceremony at the Tooth of Time, Philmont. The Yoda/Eagle patch is fun and collectible. This year we have a Yoda/Eagle patch that can be worn by Eagle Scouts who have the commemorative ceremony at the Jamboree and by the Scoutmasters (and ASM’s) of those Jamboree Troops who agree to provide the ceremony. They are pocket patches. For questions and processing, contact Glen S. Calkins gcalkins@gmail.com Thank you for your interest, support and service to Scouting.
